Viarsa – Murva

Castello di Spessa, located in Capriva del Friuli in the heart of the Collio, is one of the most significant wineries in the renowned Friulian wine region. With 70 hectares in the DOC Isonzo and 28 in the DOC Collio, the vineyards benefit from an ideal microclimate due to the protection of the Prealps and the breezes from the Adriatic Sea, which moderate thermal fluctuations.

The soils, made up of characteristic ponca (layered marls and sandstones), enrich the wines with minerality, structure, and longevity. With the help of his children Matteo and Enrico, the winery now manages 9 hectares, 4 of which are vineyards, located at varying altitudes and interspersed with forests inhabited by badgers, which gave the winery its name.
