Pfitscher

The Pfitscher Winery, founded in 1861 and today run by the seventh of the family, is a benchmark for Alto Adige mountain wines, characterized by freshness, elegance, and sustainability.

History of Pfitscher

Founded in 1861, Pfitscher Winery is a historic reality in Alto Adige, rooted in Montagna (BZ). Long led by Klaus and Monica Pfitscher, today the estate is entrusted to their children Daniel, Hannes, and Marion, representing the seventh generation.

The family has always pursued an artisanal and authentic style, blending tradition and innovation with a contemporary approach.

The new winery was the first to be certified CasaClima Wine, a model of sustainable architecture perfectly integrated into the surrounding landscape, designed to embody the company’s philosophy.

Philosophy of Pfitscher

The production philosophy is based on the pursuit of purity of expression and the enhancement of the mountain terroir. Each wine comes from sustainable viticulture, with low yields and meticulous attention to environmental respect.

In the cellar, fermentations occur spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, reflecting a minimal intervention approach.

The goal is to craft wines that are fresh, fragrant, and elegant, faithfully conveying the identity of high-altitude vineyards.

Terroir of Pfitscher Wines

The vineyards lie between 350 and 900 meters above sea level, in areas marked by strong diurnal temperature shifts, optimal exposures, and calcareous and porphyry soils.

This mosaic of pedoclimatic conditions gives the wines freshness, verticality, and aromatic complexity.

The special location of Montagna, in the heart of the Bassa Atesina, is a privileged terroir for Pinot Noir, the winery’s flagship variety, as well as for the main white grapes of Alto Adige.

Pfitscher Wines

The range reflects the desire to distinguish two lines: Single Vineyards, dedicated to the finest crus, and Tradition, which offers an immediate interpretation of Alto Adige’s typical varieties.

Among the Single Vineyards, standouts include Pinot Nero Riserva Matan, a representative wine of the estate, Pinot Nero Riserva Vigna Das Langefeld, regarded among the best Pinot Noirs in Italy, and Sauvignon Blanc Riserva Mathias, a refined single-vineyard expression. Also noteworthy are prestigious labels such as Merlot Cabernet Riserva Cortazo, Lagrein Riserva Griesfeld, Gewürztraminer Riserva Vigna Rutter, and Brut Nature Riserva Sparkling Wine.

The Tradition line includes wines of immediate drinkability and territorial typicity: Pinot Nero Fuxleiten, Sauvignon Blanc Saxum, Chardonnay Arvum, Pinot Bianco Longarei, Müller Thurgau Dola, Gewürztraminer Stoass, and Lagrein Rivus.
