Ronchi di Manzano’s History and Philosophy

We are among the valleys of Udine in Manzano in the DOC Colli Orientali del Friuli area . The area is now known for its ability to give excellent wines, expectations are high and Ronchi di Manzano is not betrayed. As early as the nineteenth century, the counts of Trento chose the vines of this property to make the best wines to be offered to the nobles of the Austro-Hungarian empire. The transfer to the Borghese family occurred in the 1980s. A company born as a hobby and become prestigious thanks above all to its owner, Roberta Borghese , who masterfully follows and guides the production in every phase, from the grapes to the bottle.

Recently the daughters Lisa and Nicole joined , tending to bring even more international breeze. In recent years this company has made a real leap towards quality, replacing the old plants with native vines and reaching about 60 hectares, partly destined for Ronc Scossai , Ronc di Subule and east Ronc di Rosazzo . The cellar, a majestic construction with two underground floors, was obtained from the rock, and is made up of several departments: one for winemaking, one for bottling, the warehouse and the barrique.

The wines of Ronchi di Manzano

The line is wide but among these certainly stand out Rosazzo , a White with golden reflections and floral flavors, a mix that cleverly enhances the whole, the Colli Orientali del Friuli Bianco Ellégri , rich and complex on the nose, fresh and persistent on the palate , and on top of all Colli Orientali del Friuli Ribolla Gialla , coming from the harvest carried out only by hand, an almost artisan wine that remains in contact with its skins for 5 months, giving a slightly perceptible and very balanced fruity flavor.
