L’ Armangia

(CANELLI – ASTI)  A multifaceted wine company, known for Asti Spumante, but also for red wines and white wines such as  Moscato d’Asti Canelli, Barbera, Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, Suavignon and the Pacifico blend.

L’ Armangia’s History and Philosophy

Ignazio Giovine comes from a family that has lived the world of wine for over a century. For this reason too, he found himself studying in the important wine school of his region, located in the city of Alba , where he found Stefano Coterno among his classmates, son of the famous Barolo producer, Aldo Coterno. Thanks to this teaching and the family vineyards in Canelli and Moasca, a bright future seemed already written for the young producer. And the future was not long in coming, but in a different way from what one might have expected.

Canelli is the center of the production of Moscato in Piedmont , and it was here that, in the mid-nineteenth century, the production of ” Muscat Champagne ” began, a wine that has become one of the most famous in the world under the name of Asti Spumante . But the young Giovine was interested in a more diversified career, which included the cultivation of other types of grapes and the production of other varieties of wine. He has a deep knowledge of the various places and varieties of Moscato grown on the various hills in Canelli and surroundings, and his Moscato d’Asti Canelli, which bears the name of the sub-zone, is a broad, mature, fragrant and complex interpretation of the variety.

The wines of L’ Armangia

But this is only the beginning of the product line, certainly not the end, and many other wines are available. The Barbera d’Asti Berruti Above is a classic example of an excellent bottle from the table, excellent with many different dishes, and is flanked by the more concentrated Barbera d’Asti Superiore Titon and rich and pungent Barbera Vignali , who both carry the prestigious name Nizza on its label. Ignazio also has a steady hand with international varieties, as evidenced by both the Sauvignon Enne Enne , with aromas of herbs, pepper and sweet citrus fruits, and its Chardonnay (Pratotondo and Robi & Robi). The Pinot Noir is a new output, while the powerfulAlbarossa , a cross between Barbera and Nebbiolo di Dronero, is one of the best in the region. The Pacifico is an innovative blend of Nebbiolo , Albarossa and Cabernet , a completely original wine that completes the line.
