(LA MORRA – CUNEO) Agricola Gian Piero Marrone wines are produced in La Morra, among the wines produced Barolo Bussia, Barolo Pichemej, Panteleria Barbaresco and many others.

Agricola Gian Piero Marrone’s History and Philosophy

The Gian Piero Marrone farm has its headquarters in the Piedmontese hills of Annunziata, a hamlet in the municipality of La Morra, a few kilometers from Alba, in the Langhe area. A range famous all over the world, especially for the production of Barolo wine, cultivated here for centuries and now recognized as DOCG. On these hills, fine vines are grown, among them the most renowned Nebbiolo, from which Barolo and Nebbiolo d’Alba are produced. The vines cultivated by the company are also in addition to Nebbiolo: Barbera, Dolcetto, Arneis, Chardonnay, Favorita and Moscato.

It is no coincidence that these hills are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and boast a long wine history that can also be felt in the tradition of this company. The winery has in fact reached its fourth generation, dating back to the early 1900s, thanks to the intuition of Pietro Marrone. Currently the winery is run with great union, passion and professionalism by Gian Piero Marrone, his wife and three daughters.

But the difference to making a production worthy of note lies in the skill, which in this case is evident from the great capacity that this family has in being cohesive and ambitious in management. Each one has in his duties, the responsibility that reflects the original philosophy, that of taking care of the vineyards in the best way to produce fine wines, thanks to a constant and meticulous processing of the grapes, from the vineyard to the cellar.

Thanks to the administrative and contact work with foreigners of Serena Marrone and her husband Marco, that Marrone’s wines can be appreciated nationally and internationally. Without neglecting in the least what is the care and hospitality in the cellar followed by the other daughter Denise Marrone, in addition to taking care of relations with the German markets.

brown room 2A union evidenced by the line offered, which is large and well organized, with wines that have deservedly received important awards from critics such as Jancis Robinson and in the best events in the sector such as Decanter, to name a few. We point out among the wines the “Barolo Bussia DOCG”, a sumptuous and elegant wine, with a vigorous tannic texture and an eloquent nose, which comes from one of the most renowned historical vineyards in the Barolo area, or the “Barolo Pichemej DOCG”, savory and voluminous, the “Barbera d’Alba Superiore DOC”, a free wine with an appealing acidity of vigor and fluidity, the “La Pantelera”, Barbaresco “DOCG”, with a strong, ethereal and fruity fruit, to be discovered also the white wines with denomination Langhe and Gavi and Moscato d’Asti, all sincere wines of great character and identity.

But the whole line is really excellent and worthy of being discovered; not only reflects the now well-known Piedmontese tradition, but also a constancy and spirit of innovation in the techniques, testified by the excellent results obtained over time.
