Cantina Colline Pisane

Cantina Colline Pisane

Cantina Colline Pisane is a relatively recent cooperative that since 1964 has never stopped growing both in terms of numbers and quality. It produces excellent red and white wines from Tuscany.

Cantina Colline Pisane’s History and Philosophy

The history of Tuscany is strongly intertwined with the history of wine, an essential element of this region. Suffice it to say that the development of this territory in the wine sense began already in the 16th century with the Medici family, when Cosimo started a series of initiatives in these territories. However, tradition does not necessarily mean quality, because the world of wine is a sector where evolution is the key to success. Cantina Colline Pisane knows it well , a cooperative with a relatively recent history and constantly growing.

Founded in 1961 by 11 wine growers who own the largest agricultural estates in the area, it immediately pursued a main purpose: to improve its production techniques to remain competitive without distorting its identity. The first harvest took place in 1964, and since then the number of associates has grown to over 200 members, with a production capacity of around 56,000 hl per year. The search for quality combined with attention to the territory are the cornerstones of this winery, which over the years has in fact been gaining visibility and recognition on an international level.

The wines of Cantina Colline Pisane

The various companies are scattered in the province of Pisa, from Crespina, to Cascina, from Lari, Fauglia, Chianni, Casciana Terme, to Terricciola and Pontedera . The characteristics of these territories are unique for the growth of the grapes: the altitude varies from 250 to 580 meters, and exposure to the sun is constant. Despite the fact that Tuscany is famous for its red wines, Cantina Colline Pisane is also successful with white wines. As evidence of this there is Bianco Pisano di San Torpè , one of the first wines produced, and Estro Biancodi Toscana, a fruity and light wine. Red wines, on the other hand, include Pensiero Rosso di Toscana , Pali Alti Rosso di Toscana and a Chianti with a strong character, the Verbo, which is also one of the first wines produced by the winery.
