(REFRONTOLO – TREVISO) Astoria is a company that produces wines in Conegliano and Valdobbiadene known for the production of Prosecco. The History of Astoria
Astoria Vini is located in Refrontolo, in the province of Treviso in Veneto. We are in the north-east of Italy, in the heart of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG.
This agricultural area is surrounded by the soft hills of the upper Treviso area, which, thanks to its privileged position between the pre-Alpine chain and the Venice lagoon, gives life to wines of great depth that are famous all over the world.
The company was founded in 1987 by the Polegato family, a historic family of Venetian winemakers, to which it still belongs.
To date, Astoria has 40 hectares distributed among 100 contributors, they are located at about 80-200 meters above the sea level, a perfect position for the cultivated vines. Prosecco is the symbol of these areas and is also the flagship of Astoria Vini.
The annual production of Astoria wines is around 2,000,000 bottles, numbers that make Astoria the first producer of the Prosecco DOCG area.
Astoria Wines philosophy
The wines that are produced in the ‘Tenuta Val De Brun’ of Refrontolo, a company owned, are distributed in the Astoria Lounge Wines Store, a showroom with a refined design, the same that distinguishes the bottles: a minimal style that reflects the philosophy of company: the strength of the Venetian wine tradition, but always at the forefront, which never loses sight of quality.
Over the years Astoria Vini has made itself known in Italy and around the world, thanks to the quality of its offers and its creative marketing.
Wines of Astoria
Among the Astoria wines of great interest the Prosecco Millesimato DOCG and the Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze Arzana, the Colli di Conegliano DOCG wines and the Marzemino Passito di Refrontolo DOCG are also very exciting. Astoria wines are obtained thanks to the technical support of a highly skilled and prestigious staff and to an Oenologist such as Roberto Sandrin.
Millesimato is one of the company’s top wines, award-winning in the best national and international competitions over time, including the most significant: the Grand Gold Medal at the Vinitaly International Wine Competition in Verona.
But this company has obtained many awards and recognitions over the years and not only for Prosecco, just think of ‘Il Puro’, Merlot DOC which won as the best wine of Italy in the 2005/2006 vintages at the Mostra dei Merlot d ‘ Italy 8th edition, or to the gold medal ‘Vino Merlot 2016’ in Piedmont at the International Wine Competition ‘La Selezione Del Sindaco’ 15th edition, or to the Astoria Moscato Rosè gold medal in Paris in the 2015 Féminalise World Wine Competition .
