Wine Tasting of Barolo Pio Cesare DOCG 2016
Pio Cesare
It visually presents an intense garnet red, the nose is complex, austere and broad ranging from intense hints of ripe berries, hints of plum embellished with undergrowth and sweet spices and tobacco. On the palate it is enveloping with a very thick but silky tannic texture which is counterbalanced by an important acid shoulder that gives great freshness and drinkability. Voluminous and harmonious finish with a light note of officinal herbs, of great persistence.
Vinification in steel with maceration on the skins for 25-30 days at rather high temperatures and refines in barrels for about 30 months and a small part in barriques.
Excellent aging potential.
