Barolo ‘Gabutti’ 2016 – Paola Sordo

Paola Sordo’s 2016 ‘Gabutti’ Barolo wine dresses the glass in an intense garnet red. The aromatic picture is broad and multifaceted and is outlined in a kaleidoscope of notes of potpourri of withered flowers, ripe cherries and dates, embellished with more enigmatic spicy tones, licorice, tones of medicinal herbs and hydrocarbons.

On the palate it is voluminous and lively, with compact, silky and enveloping tannins supported by a pleasant granular mineral trail that creates presence on the palate and amplifies the sensations. Sensational persistence, balsamic and harmonious finish with excellent cleanliness.

Ages 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, 4-6 months in stainless steel and at least 6 months in the bottle.

With full rights among the best Barolos: the fragrance and olfactory complexity are the prelude to a surprisingly unusual, exciting, rich and savory sip.
