Malvasia white wines, aromatic and fruity.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Alessandro Moroder&#8217;s History and Philosophy<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Conero<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> area <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">, located in the <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Marche region<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , is certainly singular from a geological point of view. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Located on the coast, south of the city of <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Ancona<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , it was originally part of the Apennine chain of central Italy. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">It was a giant promontory, which over time crumbled and drifted east, until it reached its last home, the sea. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">This makes it geologically the most unusual area in the Marche: its soil is calcareous, a feature it shares with many of the most important areas in the world of high-level viticulture, such as Burgundy. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">It is therefore logical that the area has been given its own denomination, <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Rosso Conero DOC<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , a red wine made from grapes<\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Montepulciano<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> : another peculiarity, considering that most of the wine from the province of Ancona is white.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Like most of the wine produced in the region, <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Rosso Conero<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> was scarcely considered in the 60s and 70s: a fact partly explained by the almost entirely local consumption and partly by the little ambition of most wine producers. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">A way of thinking that has not characterized, and still does not characterize, the story of <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Alessandro Moroder<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> . <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">His surname, sounding Germanic, may seem out of place in central Italy. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The family was originally from Val Gardena and settled in the Marche region as far back as the 18th century. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The wines of Alessandro Moroder<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Alessandro, together with his wife <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Serenella<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , strongly believed that much more could be done and began to demonstrate it with his wines in the early 80s.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">An important step forward was the <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Doric<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> in 1990, whose name refers to the Hellenic origins (also called &#8220;Doric&#8221;) of Ancona, a city born as a Greek colony. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">This wine has become an important example in its area and has inspired many others to a greater commitment to <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Montepulciano<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , finally resulting in the birth of the <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Conero Riserva DOCG<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> in 2004.
