Tasting notes of the wine Montecucco Sangiovese DOCG 2013 by Poggio al Mandorlo
It has a bright ruby red color with nuances that tend to garnet. The nose opens wide ranging from pleasant notes of ripe cherry, plum and violet violet embellished with spicy suggestions of black pepper, licorice and cloves. It reveals itself on the voluminous palate with a thick but velvety tannic texture, to which is countered by an important sour shoulder of nerve that gives great freshness. Harmonious, balsamic, persistent and elegant finish. A wine with great aging potential. Sangiovese ages for 18 months in large Slavonian oak barrels while Merlot spends 18 months in French oak barrels.
