Tasting notes of the wine 2016 Red Sciave' Eloro Nero D'avola DOP by Riofavara
The 2016 red Sciave’ Eloro Sicilia Nero D’avola DOP shows the typical hue of the Nero d’Avola of this area: intense ruby red with slight purple shades. The nose is complex, the strong notes of carob, licorice and the fruity notes marked by red berries and plums combine with dry flowers and Mediterranean spices. The palate is elegantly rich, harmonious and captivating, with balanced tannins, and a typically Sicilian wild finish.
Riofavara is the company that produces this wine.
The family-run company dates back to 1920 but it became a winery in 1994. The company owns about 16 hectares over 6 parcels located in the most suitable districts of the area. The company is not very large, but its wines testify its excellence and personality, typical of the Noto Valley.
