FloraMi is a very young company, founded in 2013 by Mario Terzo and the wife Milly, two engineers animated by a passionate interest in wine and the vesuvian territory. This wine estate is situated infact on the slopes of the Parco Nazionale del Vesuvio, in the locality of Tirone della Guardia, in the municipality of Trecase, at 300mt above sea level, and enjoys a spectacular view on the entire Gulf of Naples. We are talking of one of the most enchanting areas of Italy, both for its history and its culture.

The area is characterized by maritime pines, prickly pear and all around broom and numerous wild orchids and epiphyllum which grow amongst the lava rocks and go to create the typical mediterranean scrub which has so intensly inspired poets, musicians and writers of all centuries. In the centuries, this area, straddling between Naples and Pompei, has become famous for its production of wines also of niche, made from the varieties common in the terrirory, like Caprettone, Falanghina, for the white grapes variety, Piedirosso and Aglianico, for the red grape variety. FloraMi produces wines using exclusively Falanghina grapes, a primitivo vine, imported by the ancient Greeks, which in time has developed an excellent capacity of adaptation to different kinds of terroir and has been enriched with distinctive aromas, though maintaining its personality. Just one hectare of vineyards, but cultivated ungrafted and in a masterly way, as demonstrated by the only wine produced , which is ìndole, where the minerality of Vesuvius emerges in all its splendour.
The success that this young company has been able to obtain is connected especially to the characteristics which respect the vesuvian wine making tradition, which are notable for two different aspects: the first is all about viticulture, with the ungrafted technique, the second is the vinification, which envisages, by peasant tradition, the maceration process even for the white grapes. But to macerate the grapes, and obtain a wine of excellence, the product must be healthy; and this is just where the FloraMi company has known how to create that synergy on the totality of the production process, thanks to the work done in the vineyards and in the cellar, with the support of the winemaker Vincenzo Mercurio, basing everything on a natural approach, power point of the production. A new reality, which with passion and concreteness looks ahead with the strength of a tradition and competence, which promises a production level to be pursued.
