The La Fortezza company is located in Torrecuso in the Tora area of the province of Benevento, within the Taburno Regional Park, and on the slopes of Mount Taburno. A land of vineyards in which the production of grapes amounts to about 95,000 quintals, made of excellent DOC and DOCG wines Aglianico, Falanghina, Piedirosso, Fiano.
Interestingly, the Benevento area is known to cover about 40% of the wine production of of the entire vineyard area of the Campania Region; these are numbers that attest to a tremendous economic, commercial and enological prominence.
Characters like Enzo Rillo, head of La Fortezza, are accustomed to entrepreneurship of a certain level and in these contexts find their natural habitat in the investment of time and energy in activities like those related to viticulture. As is the case for Rillo, many are moved by a love for the land and for its peasant origins which forged it, and today are made conscious and successful producers.

The cellar itself is completely covered in stone and well integrated into the surrounding landscape and thanks to a partnership with the winemaker Vittorio Festa and continuous research and experimentation, the company has enjoyed sustained growth on the 65 hectares of vineyards surrounding the winery. In addition to the human elements, the very land on which these vines are located, which, due to exposure, altitude and conscious care, are proven to produce more than convincing wines made from native grapes of the area: Aglianico del Taburno, Falanghina del Taburno Greco and Fiano, and which form articulated lines of high quality and with a wide offer ranging from the Classic Line, to the Young Line, to Bubbles and Liquors.
In the end, the prides of the company, the crowning glories, are the sparkling Falanghina, the Aglianico Frizzante and the very precious “Maleventum,” a falanghina brut obtained with the long Charmat method.
